Changing Tides

"This past year has not been the easiest for anyone. Everyone has been faced with new hardships and obstacles to overcome whether that be going to school and working from home, not being able to see family, or even losing loved ones. We are all trying to navigate unknown territory and that is what this project is all about. I wanted to photograph the struggles and new things in people’s lives through people that have experienced the chaos of 2020 first-hand; my family. Not only are we facing difficulties in the face of the pandemic, but also just in general. We have experienced the stress of working and going to school online, working in the field as a nurse, the pain of separation, and loss both due to COVID and not. This project illustrates the mundane qualities of what we have experienced as well as the extreme, from the oldest generation to the youngest."
